After bird netting installation

External plant room areas on a North Wales building had a problem with roosting birds.

The Problem

Small birds were roosting in 3 separate external plant room areas of this North Wales building. Guano and other associated debris had begun to accumulate in the area and was a particular problem where fouling had accumulated on pipe work, air conditioning compressors, switchgear and door handles....etc.

The Solution

The solution was to install 19mm bird netting to the aperture of each plant room to deny ingress by all species of birds. Bird spike was installed along leading edges along the plant room outer walls to prevent larger birds and pigeons from sitting and roosting in these areas. Each area was treated with a suitable biocide to reduce the risk of infection for anyone working in the area, then finally the guano was cleaned and removed for safe disposal.

Result

The result was a bird free area safe from potentially hazardous guano and eliminating any further ingress from birds.
